Welcome back to Codes of Culture. I’m Ashumi Sanghvi. Back to regular programming this week, as it’s the end of another summer for the books.

Across all the travels and time zones, sleep and recovery have been top of mind for me, so Whoop’s Meridian launch has been timely as I will definitely be getting one. Targeting and attracting a female audience for wearables/health tech companies has been a long time in the making, and we are finally starting to see this trend across Oura ring covers, Lumia earrings, Ultrahuman, Fitbit and Bellabeat and its not slowing down. It is a hugely untapped market, with plenty of room to grow.

We always tend to have a finger on where markets are headed, and investments are being made before they get covered in mainstream media, so it was interesting to see the recent piece on the growth of influencer investors. We saw that trend a few years ago, and now it’s really taking off in real time with the likes of Logan and Jake Paul’s Anti Fund investing across frontier tech, Alix Earle’s recent investment in Cymbiotika, Sophia Amurosa’s Trustfund vc betting on early stage, category-defining consumer/tech founders and Steven Bartlett building out his private office to invest across tech startups, among so many more.

Finally, another space to watch is Bangkok’s rise as the epicentre of all things linked to cool, creators, and culture with an incredible Cloud 11 development powering the creative ecosystem. You heard it here first.
